4 Tips for Spring Ready Roofs and Gutters

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

Spring is here, and winter has left us! No longer do you have to worry about ice dams piling up on your gutters. No longer is snow damaging or cluttering your roof. However, winter weather has a significant effect on your roof. It matters that you invest in gutter and roof maintenance to make sure that your gutters or roof didn’t sustain damage during the winter season. Keep reading for three helpful tips so that your roof is Spring ready.

1) Spring Cleaning

When spring arrives, this means that you need to declutter. During early spring, you put stow away warm, winter clothes and swap them out for light, spring clothes. You also take the time to clean your home from floor to ceiling. However, roof and gutter maintenance is all apart of spring cleaning as well. To prevent water damage or moisture buildup, make sure that you unclog your gutters and ventilate your roof.

2) Look for Damages

A professional can best inspect a roof or gutters for damages. A roofing contractor is skilled in detecting impairments and may be able to see what you cannot see. If your roof has missing shingles or your gutters are disconnected from your roof entirely, then replacement is pertinent. Water damage or an attic that rots isn’t ideal. Holes or beams of light is an easy way to detect if something is wrong with your attic.

3) Don’t Ignore Damages or Repairs

As a homeowner, your roof and gutters may be one of the last things or your mind, but roofing and gutter maintenance are essential.

Procrastinating on repairs causes your home more damage in the long run. As soon as your roof needs repairs, get it fixed. After all, the roof is the foundation that holds up a home. You should take care of your roof.

4) Review Warranties and Documents

If you find that you have severe roof damage, you want to make sure that understand what your agreement covers. If a leak occurs, you want to make sure that you aren’t digging through files of contacts. Homes have several components to it and necessary maintenance routines that you must implement. Keeping all of your contracts, documents, warranties, and agreements in one centralized place will cause less stress and give you clarity.
